Fork In The Road

Tomorrow, I enter the hell of your heaven

And I didn’t have to die- just part of me

You shot me through the head and then the heart of me

But it won’t really be the end- just the start of me

My world has turned: worst has become the best

Loving you hurts me, my soul is learning

The road to you is long, my soul is churning

I see your face inside; my soul is burning

Oh, why must it take so long?

I’m maddened by your lovers in my sleep

I dream journeys over mountains high and steep

Sometimes fall, sometimes die, most times weep

Will I stumble, will I perish or will I leap

‘cross the chasm to your arms

And finally drink deep?
